We believe that an active Extended School Activities (ESA) programme is essential to providing more breadth and depth to the extended school day.
We know that parents are working longer and teachers have added pressures – so why not let Progressive Sports complement your school day by including a range of Extended School Activities.
Our aim is to ensure that all children are able to have opportunities to engage in a wide range of activities outside of the normal school day. All children have a natural curiosity to try different things, and we aim to meet their curiosity by offering a wide and diverse menu of activities.
The perfect way to wake a child’s body and mind is with a 30/45 minute session before school. Physical activity in the morning improves a child’s concentration and focus for the day ahead.
A supervised activity for children for 30 minutes during the lunch break.
We supply a member of staff who will actively engage with the children throughout lunch time, and make sure lunches are fun and active.
A safe and fun environment for 60 minutes after school where children have the opportunity to explore and develop their skills in a range of sports.
Choose from over 20 different sports and activities: fencing, streetdance, dodgeball, tchoukball, football, kwik cricket, tag rugby, cheerleading, hockey,
basketball, non-contact boxing, archery, korfball, volleyball, tennis, handball, frisbee, gymnastics, multi-skills, multi-sports, zumba and much more...

Nova Primary has been working in partnership with Progressive Sports since January 2020. As headteacher, I have worked with organisations providing similar offers but none have been as efficient or enthusiastic. Progressive Sports staff facilitate a range of roles in the school including cover teachers, sports coaches for classes/clubs and sports mentors for children who need social and emotional support. I can honestly say that we love having them here and the children do to. They have been incredibly supportive throughout the pandemic and always pay attention to safety guidance. I recommend would them whole-heartedly to any setting.
Thank you again for joining us for the twilight. It was a really useful session that was clear, well paced and interactive. It was good to see all the staff engage with such a plethora of activities and also able to share their own ideas and experience to inform each other’s practice. The balance of the session was well crafted and enabled everyone to be involved and I am already seeing the applications within class teaching.
“Progressive Sports led a very successful competition day at Hob Hill Primary. As well as them organising an enjoyable day of athletics for the children, they also brought two athletes, who inspired the children – and staff! Daniel Caines provided awe and wonder to the children, sharing his experiences as a medal winning international athlete, while Robbie Gleeson showed that children how an aspiring young sportsman can progress in his field. The event was really well run, great fun, and is what we have come to expect from the PS coaches.”
Progressive Sports have been supporting our school, Barley Close, for many years. What started out as PE coaching has developed to a close partnership covering all aspects of school life. As well as supporting staff CPD they run a variety of sports clubs but can offer a variety of sports, if we want a specific sport they will find a coach who can deliver.
They have adapted with the ever changing challenges schools face- health and wellbeing is a huge area for our pupils so we spoke to Progressive Sports- they now offer us ELSA, weekly well being sessions, mentoring support and as they are all amazing role models to our young people the impact is incredible. We can see children growing in confidence, building better relationships and even in lockdown this work continued virtually. We also use them for PPA cover, so not only sport they follow our subject plans, our curriculum and school policies.
It in nutshell nothing is too much trouble or impossible and we are lucky and very proud that they are part of our school community.
